ABOUT US
Chris Mentch is the principal of Lauris Capital LLC. He founded his private lending company to serve his fellow investors--both passive and active--by providing the necessary funding for fix and flip, ground-up construction, short-term rentals and long-term buy and hold deals. He has applied technology to his personal real estate investments and business operations. Excited to offer private lending options to my local market and beyond. Prior to Lauris Capital LLC, he and his wife started investing in local real estate. In their investment journey, they have learned many lessons along the way and have found success building long-term wealth for their family. Their long-term rental portfolio has been acquired through leveraging both hard money, traditional financing and personal investments. Along the way, he discovered the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and read through it in a few sittings. He quickly realized he was approaching his finances in the wrong way--his liabilities were greater than his assets.
He had to figure out how to leverage good debt into wealth-producing assets. From that point, he read many real estate investing books cover to cover, forums, blog posts and listened to hundreds of Bigger Pockets podcasts. He and his wife started acquiring assets in the form of long-term rental properties in their local market. Before his investment career, Chris has been involved with many technology-related, software development projects. He started a technology consulting business in 2008 and partnered with a local businessman to co-found a software startup in 2012. The startup company was acquired in 2017. Chris has been an active member of Apartment Association of NW PA since 2016 and a board member since 2020. He has been married to his wonderful wife, Laura, for over 19 years. Together, they are proud parents of two children, Chloe and Andrew and reside in Erie, PA.
